Jahbue: The Inspiration

Due to being exposed to various cultures in Southern Africa, JAHBUE has managed to blend all the diverse elements of music to create a beautiful Afro-centric sound that is uniquely JAHBUE.

JAHBUE grew up singing in the church choir like most successful musicians in Africa and beyond. It was in the church where he learnt to play musical instruments such as the piano, keyboards and guitars.

JAHBUE majors mostly on the piano because that't the instrument that was highly accessible. At home there was one and when he joined Gifford High School they also had pianos. It was here at Gifford where he met one of Bulawayo's top session musicians. That;s when he started majoring in jazz and playing cover versions of jazz legends such as Jabu Khanyile, Oliver Mtukudzi and Hugh Masekela.

Concurrently with playing jazz, the House music genre exploded into the scene and infiltrated Bulawayo. It was at this time where JAHBUE had the idea of fusing House music with Zimbabwean rhythms. But due to academic commitments and lack of resources in Bulawayo, it was a dream that he ended up realising only recently.

JAHBUE plans to saturate Africa as a whole with his music and create a viable career choice in Zimbabwe, as the music industry is in dire need of fresh ideas. His long term goal is to ultimately own his very own Recording label which will create opportunities for the youth and keep the music industry sustained.

Jahbue: An Introduction

24 years ago Bulawayo was bestowed the honoured of being the home-city to one of the promising stars- Jahbue. Born Bramwell Jabulani Ndlovu, he has arisen to be the next best thing in the Zim music industry since the likes of Don Gumbo and Lovemore Majaivana.

He is a pianist, songwriter, singer and producer. He is a blessing to both the House and Jazz music genres and a breath of fresh air to all Zimbabweans who have been looking for fresh new talent to represent them internationally.

Truculently shy, purposely truant and withdrawn, this humble young man will stop at nothing in ensuring that his presence is felt throughout the music world and resonates through the rivers and valleys of Africa.

His music is a tasteful, unique fusion of Afro-soul, Zim rhythms and jazzy elements crafted together to appeal to the world music lovers who have an appreciation of artistic expressions with a cultural twist. Taking into consideration the standard of his music, most people will mistake his album for a compilation of well-seasoned artists yet its only his debut album.

To approve this commentary download his songs now: I'd say enjoy but it's obvious you will...
